What is the Audio Media Player Plugin?

The Audio Media Player can be used as the control hub for all audio media in the Soundcloud, Media Center Manual, and Media Center RSS Feed features in your app.

It will allow you to quickly pause, play, fast forward, and rewind an audio clip. You can even create a master playlist with it.

What are some use cases of the Audio Media Player?

Some use cases of this feature include:

  • Music Producer or Artist App: Allow users to create their own playlists of songs in your app
  • Podcasts: Allow users to play episodes one after the other by adding them to their playlist

How to Add the Audio Media Player to Your App

Here are some simple steps get this feature live on your app, but if you’d like more detailed information, we’ve written a dedicated article about how to create and enable Marketplace features.

Step 1: In the left menu, go to “Features”
Step 2:
Search the Marketplace
Step 3:
Click “Add”, give it a title, and click “Add” again to confirm it

Once you've added it, you can change the feature's icon and title, which will be what your users see when they access it in your app.

Step 4: Once you’ve created your content, you can make your feature accessible by adding it to a Folder plugin, the side menu, or the footer menu.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED: We definitely suggest you put the Audio Player in your side menu so that it's always accessible to your users wherever they are in your app.

How to use the Audio Media Player plugin

Step 1: Go to any of the audio-based features we have such as the Media Centers and click play
Once the file has buffered enough, which can vary depending on your connection speed, you'll hear the sound clip start playing.

Step 2: Browse the rest of the app
You can quickly go into the Audio Media Player Plugin to control whatever is playing at that moment allowing you can pause, play, fast forward, and rewind. 

How to Create a Playlist

Step 1: Tap on the three dots here next to the gear symbol 

Step 2: Select “Add to Playlist”

To view your playlist, just tap on “Go to Playlist”.

Pro Tip 1: Add the Audio Media Player Plugin to your Side Menu
