The Events Manual Plugin is a great way to keep people up to date about your events, schedules, and happenings.

Pro Tip: Syncing your iCal Feed

If you have a calendar that produces an iCal feed (most calendars do since it is an industry standard), you should check out the Events Feed Plugin.

Now, onto the Events Manual Plugin.

The Events Manual Plugin allows you to:

  • Manually insert events into your app.
  • Display a monthly calendar that gives you a broad overview of all the events you have that month.
  • Clicking on an event allows you to edit it.
  • Customize all the details of the events, including title, date, time, location, and description.
  • Manually include contact information and links

How to create a new Events Manual plugin instance

Step 1: Go to “Add New Plugin” in the left menu under “Plugins”
Step 2: Search for "Event" in the search bar
Step 3: Click "Add" next to the plugin
Step 4: Give your new plugin instance a title
Step 5: Click "Add"
**NOTE** The plugin will not automatically be enabled on your app. To learn how to enable it, you can find out more information HERE.

How to edit the plugin icon/image and title

On the plugin editor, you can change the plugin icon, title, and whether or not it requires a login. Requiring a login means the user will have to create an account in order to access this plugin instance.

How to add/create a new event

Step 1: Click on "Add New Event" to, well, add a new event :)

Step 2: Add an image for the carousel, a thumbnail image, and insert the event details. You can set the date, time, whether or not it repeats location, and a brief description.

Step 3: Clicking “Add Link” will allow you to insert a link into the page to accompany your event. This could be a website with more information, a platform to sell tickets, or a Facebook event page. When you’re finished don’t forget to click Done.

How to change your layout and design

To change the design of the events page, go to the Design tab and select any of the Item Layouts. You can also add a background image here.

How to enable your plugin instance (aka how to make it accessible) in your app

If you didn't create your plugin inside of a Folder Plugin or inside the Side Menu, the plugin will not automatically be enabled on your app. To learn how to enable it, you can find out more information HERE.
