What is the Buildfire Previewer App? Available in both the App and Google Play stores, the Previewer App let’s you preview your app before it’s published. It’s useful for four reasons.
- You can preview your app before it’s published, so you can test it before your users try it out.
- If you haven’t upgraded, this is also a chance for your to try out your app on your phone.
- You’ll have a native mobile experience. On the emulator, some plugins won’t give you the full experience. On the Previewer, you app will act just as if it were a published app that was downloaded into your phone.
- You can test your user experience in a more realistic and true manner. Most of your users will be interacting with your app on your phone, so it’s good for you to try it there too.
To find the Buildfire Previewer app, just go to the Google Play Store, or Apple App Store and search for “Buildfire Previewer,” tap on the “Buildfire Previewer” app, and tap Install. Once it’s installed, tap on the app icon to open it. On this page, enter the same login information as your Buildfire account. If you are having any issues remember your email or password, please email firstname.lastname@example.org for help.
After logging in, you should see a list of all of your apps show up. To open one, simply tap on it. Soon after, you should see your app appear. Navigating through it will give you an idea of what the app will be like once published. Any changes you make on your emulator will update in your previewer app. For this demonstration, I’m going to change the font and add a new plugin on the home plugin. Now, to have it appear in your previewer app, all you have to do is tap back, reopen the previewer app, and tap on your app again. You’ll see your changes updated now.
