Username & Passwords: Why does BuildFire need access to your Developer Accounts?

Buildfire is a platform that helps individuals and businesses create custom mobile applications without needing to know how to code. When creating an app on Buildfire, it requires access to your developer account. This account is used to publish your app on the Apple App Store and/or Google Play Store.

When you create an app using Buildfire, the app is created on your behalf under your developer account. This means that the app is published under your name, and any updates or changes to the app will be made using your developer account. Therefore, to ensure that the app is published under the correct account, Buildfire requires access to your developer account username and password.

By providing Buildfire with access to your developer account, you can create and publish your app without needing to worry about the technical details of the publishing process. Buildfire handles the technical aspects of the app publishing process, allowing you to focus on creating an app that meets your needs.

In conclusion, providing Buildfire with access to your developer account username and password is necessary to create and publish your custom mobile application. Rest assured that Buildfire takes security seriously and uses OAuth authentication protocols to ensure that your login information is kept safe and secure.

Where does it go once it’s stored?

It's important to note that Buildfire does not store your login credentials. Instead, Buildfire uses secure OAuth authentication protocols to ensure that your login information is kept safe and secure. OAuth is an open standard for authorization that allows third-party applications to access your account without requiring your password.

Summary:

We require the username and password to perform the following:

  • Generate new builds for your application.

  • Gives the App Owner or Account Holder the ability to allow us to complete actions for the app on their behalf.

  • These credentials are never viewed by human eyes nor accessible for review.

  • The usernames and passwords are stored in an encrypted state on our server and are only accessible through 2-Factor Authentication.
