How to send a Standard Push Notification

Standard Push Notifications allow you to communicate directly with your app users through short, customizable messages that appear on their devices. These can include updates, promotions, reminders, or calls to action.

How to send a Standard Push Notification

  1. Log in, go to Push Navigations in the left navigation

  2. Within the New Push Notification tab click Standard Push Notification

  3. Select your Audience

    • All Devices: Sends the message to everyone who has your app installed

    • Groups: Sends to predefined groups of users (great for interest-based or behavioral targeting)

    • Custom Segment: Define specific audiences using filters such as tags, signup date, or custom data for more personalized targeting

  4. Create your Message

    • Write your title (up to 75 characters)

    • Where your Message (up to 150 characters)

    • Create a message for in-app

      1. This can can include text formatting, links, or images created in the rich text editor

    • Add Action Buttons such as “Learn More” to open a specific app section or external webpage

  5. Schedule or Send step

    • Choose when to deliver the message

      1. Send Now: Deliver immediately

      2. Schedule: Select a specific date and time to send later

  6. Click Send Notification

  • Target carefully: The more relevant your message, the higher the engagement rate

  • Keep it short and clear: Concise notifications are more likely to be read and acted on

  • Avoid over-sending: Frequent notifications can cause users to disable push permissions

  • Include action items: Buttons and deep links help drive user activity directly from the message
