The search bar allows users to find relevant content across multiple areas of the app without scrolling. Depending on how the app is set up, search can surface results from places like People directories, messages, and other searchable content, making navigation faster and more intuitive.

How to use the Search Bar

  1. Log in, go to Navigation in the left navigation

  2. Stay in the Side Menu tab

  3. Click the Language tab

  4. Turn on the toggle to enable the search bar

    • This activates search for users inside the app side menu

  5. Customize the search label (optional)

    • Rename the search field text to match your app’s tone or purpose

    • Examples: “Search Directory”, “Find Content”, or “Search App”

    • Click Save to apply changes

  6. To test it out, in the App Preview:

    • Open the side menu

    • Enter a specific name or keyword

    • Results display where the term appears across plugins such as People, Directories, or Chat

Pro tips

  • Use full names or email addresses when searching for people

  • Be specific with keywords to avoid broad or unrelated results

  • Short or common words may return many matches across the app
