Automatic push notifications help you stay connected to users by sending relevant messages triggered by specific actions or data updates—specifically through activity within the RSS Feed feature in your app. Unlike scheduled messages, these notifications are sent in real time, saving you time while ensuring users receive timely, engaging content at the exact moment it matters most.

Requirements

  • The user must have Push Notifications configured and active for your app.

How to automate Push Notifications

  1. Log in, go to Builder in the left navigation

  2. Click Push Notifications from the left menu

  3. To create a new automatic notification

    • Click New Automatic Notification to begin setup

    • Select who should receive the message:

      1. All Devices – sends to every app user

      2. Groups – targets predefined user groups

      3. Custom Segments – targets users by tags or conditions

  4. Add message content

    • Enter a title and message body

    • (Optional) Add an in-app message for more detail using the rich-text editor

    • Add action buttons such as:

      1. “Learn More” to open a specific app page

      2. A deep link to a feature

      3. An external link to a website

  5. Configure the automation settings

    • Enter a feed URL to automatically pull new content

    • Choose the delivery frequency:

      1. Hourly – sends updates throughout the day

      2. Daily – sends one consolidated message per day

Pro tips

  • Keep messages short and friendly—avoid long or overly frequent alerts.

  • Focus on value-based notifications (e.g., tips, reminders, promotions).

  • Use automation strategically—too many automated pushes can overwhelm users.

  • Review analytics regularly to adjust timing, tone, and content for better results.

  • Test your automation flow on a test device before enabling it for live users.
