How to use the Facebook plugin

Display your Facebook page directly inside your app so users can stay updated with your latest posts, photos, and announcements without leaving the app.

The Facebook plugin allows you to embed your Facebook page feed directly in your mobile app, keeping users connected to your social content in one seamless experience. It automatically updates as you post on Facebook, helping increase engagement and visibility while keeping users inside your app environment.


Requirements

  • This is a Boost plugin, available on the Standard, Growth, and Business plans.


How to use the Facebook plugin

  1. Log in, go to Builder in the left navigation.

  2. Click the + button to open the Plugin Marketplace

    • Search for Facebook, then click Add Plugin

    • Name your feature and choose whether to add it to the side menu, then click Add again

  3. On the Content tab:

    • Enter your Facebook Page URL in the provided field

    • Click Validate to confirm the link is correct

    • Once validated, your Facebook feed will display automatically inside the app

      1. Note that the Facebook feed will not display inside the Buildfire emulator β€” this is normal

      2. Test your Facebook plugin on an iOS or Android device to see the live feed appear correctly

  4. Click the Security tab:

    • Turn on Require Login to restrict access to logged-in users

    • (Optional) Add tag-based restrictions and choose whether to match any or all tags

  5. Click the Tagging tab:

    • Enter a tag name to automatically apply to users when they open this feature

    • Click Add Tag

  6. Click the Purchase tab:

    • Check Require Purchase to enable

    • Choose your product type (e.g., Single Purchase or Subscription)

    • Upload an image, fill out purchase text, and success/failure messages

  7. Click the Analytics tab to see feature performance:

    • View data such as total views, user engagement, and device usage over time


Pro tips

  • Make sure your Facebook page is public so your feed can display properly.

  • Keep posts visual and engaging to encourage in-app interaction.

  • Avoid using shortened or redirect URLs β€” always use the full Facebook page link.

  • Use this plugin to highlight community updates, events, or announcements right inside your app.
