How to use the Weight Tracker plugin

Track, visualize, and stay motivated on your fitness journey with daily weight logs, BMI tracking, habit tracking, and reminders.

The Weight Tracker plugin helps users set and monitor fitness goals by tracking daily weight entries, habits, and progress toward a target goal. Whether users want to lose, gain, or maintain weight, this plugin provides an engaging and visual way to measure progress and stay consistent. App owners can also enable reminders, success messages, and integrations with Apple Health or Google Fit for a more personalized experience.


Requirements

  • This is a Boost plugin, available on the Standard, Growth, and Business plans.

  • App owners or admins can enable Health data permissions for Apple Health or Google Fit integration.


How to use the Weight Tracker plugin

  1. Log in, go to Builder in the left navigation.

  2. Click the + button to open the Plugin Marketplace

    • Search for Weight Tracker, then click Add Plugin

    • Name your feature (example: Fitness Goals) and choose whether to add it to the side menu, then click Add again

  3. On the Content tab:

    • Select which habits to track: Exercise, Eating healthy, Hydration, Sleep, Meditation

    • Optional: You can toggle Enable Reminders to send reminders to make a log if users are inactive

    • Add a Success or Encouragement Message:

      1. Create personalized messages (e.g., “You’re doing it!”)

      2. Messages display automatically when users hit new milestones

  4. To test it out, in the App Preview:

    • Set a goal

      1. Add current weight, goal weight, and target date

      2. Click Set Goal

      3. A progress chart appears showing your goal and tracked weight changes over time

    • Add a Daily Log:

      1. Click Add Log to record your daily weight

      2. Upload an image and add notes if desired

      3. Check off completed habits for the day

      4. Each log automatically updates the progress chart with your current weight

    • To edit or delete a log(s):

      1. Click any log to view or edit details

      2. Use the delete icon to remove a log entry

  5. On the Settings tab:

    • BMI Calculation: Enable this option to add gender and height fields. BMI will automatically calculate when a user sets or updates their goal

    • Health Data Dashboard: Connect to Apple Health or Google Fit

      1. Choose which health metrics (e.g., steps, activity, nutrition) to display

  6. Click the Security tab:

    • Turn on Require Login to restrict access to logged-in users

    • (Optional) Add tag-based restrictions and choose whether to match any or all tags

  7. Click the Tagging tab:

    • Enter a tag name to automatically apply to users when they open this feature

    • Click Add Tag

  8. Click the Purchase tab:

    • Check Require Purchase to enable

    • Choose your product type (e.g., Single Purchase or Subscription)

    • Upload an image, fill out purchase text, and success/failure messages

  9. Click the Analytics tab to see feature performance:

    • View data such as number of logs, users, and devices over time


Pro tips

  • Encourage users to log their progress daily to create a consistent tracking habit.

  • Use reminder messages to keep engagement high, especially for inactive users.

  • Enable BMI and health data integrations for a more complete wellness overview.

  • Customize success messages to reinforce motivation and goal achievement.
