How to use the YouTube plugin

Add YouTube videos, playlists, or entire channels directly into your app so users can watch without leaving the app.

The YouTube plugin allows you to display video content from your YouTube account inside your app. You can connect a single video, a playlist, or a channel feed. You can also add supporting text, an image carousel, customize the design, set access restrictions, and track usage with analytics.

Requirements

  • This is a Boost plugin, available on the Standard, Growth, and Scale plans.

  • An active YouTube account.

  • A link to your YouTube channel, playlist, or video.

How to use the YouTube plugin

  1. Log in, go to Builder in the left navigation

  2. Click the + button to open the Plugin Marketplace

    1. Search for YouTube, then click Add Plugin
      ​      Name your plugin (e.g., “Videos”) and click Add

  3. In the Content tab

    1. Choose your content type

      1. Channel feed – paste your YouTube channel URL

      2. Playlist – paste your YouTube playlist link
        ​Single video – paste the link for one YouTube video

    2. Click Save. If successful, the feed or video will be validated and appear in the preview

    3. (Optional) Add a summary text box at the top (e.g., “Welcome to my channel”)

    4. (Optional) Use the text editor to insert images or rich content

    5. (Optional) Add an image carousel at the top of the page

  4. In the Design tab

    1. Change the item list layout

    2. Update the list background or item detail background images

  5. In the Security tab

    1. Turn on Require Login to limit access to logged-in users

    2. (Optional) Add tag-based restrictions to control access by user tags

  6. In the Tagging tab

    1. Enter a tag name to automatically apply to users who open this feature

    2. Click Add Tag

  7. In the Purchase tab

    1. Check Require Purchase to enable

    2. Choose your product type (single purchase or subscription)
      Upload an image, add purchase text, and set success/failure messages

  8. In the Analytics tab

    1. View data such as daily views, top users, and device details

Pro tips

  • Use a channel feed if you want your app to automatically update with new videos.

  • Use a playlist link if you want to feature a specific collection of videos.

  • Use a single video link for one-time or featured content.

  • If validation fails, confirm the link is copied directly from your YouTube account.
