The YouTube Plugin provides some amazing functionality as described in the introduction, but read on to see what some of the core features are and how to set them up.
How to Add the YouTube Plugin to Your App
Here are some simple steps to get this feature live on your app, but if you’d like more detailed information, we’ve written a dedicated article about how to create and enable Marketplace features.
Step 1: On the left hand panel, click “App Components” and then “Marketplace”
Step 2: Search "YouTube" in the Marketplace search bar
Step 3: Click “Add”, give it a title, and click “Add” again to confirm it
Once you've added it, you can change the feature's icon and title, which will be what your users see when they access it in your app.
Step 4: Once you’ve created your content, you can make your feature accessible by adding it to a Folder plugin, the side menu, or the footer menu.
Sync Your Channel Feed
You can sync your YouTube channel so that as you add new videos, they will automatically be pulled into your app. Here’s how you do it:
Step 1: Grab the URL for your YouTube Channel
Step 2: Paste it into the URL field and click “Validate”
Sync Your Playlist
Just like with your overall channel, you can sync your YouTube playlists so that as you add new videos, they will automatically be pulled into your app. Here’s how you do it:
