The Media Center RSS Feed plugin connects external RSS or Google feeds to your app. This lets you publish live, regularly updated content without manual uploads. It’s ideal for apps that want to display dynamic content like audio, video, or articles from an existing source.

This is a Boost plugin, available on the Standard, Growth, and Business plans.

How to use the Media Center RSS Feed plugin
Log in, go to Builder in the left navigation
Click the + button to open the Plugin Marketplace
Search for Media Center RSS Feed, then click Add Plugin
Name your plugin (e.g., “Podcast Feed”) and click Add
Click the Content tab:
Add an image carousel to the top for featured visuals
Add intro text or descriptions using the WYSIWYG editor
Add one or more feeds:
Click Add Feed
Choose RSS Feed or Google Feed
Enter a feed name (e.g., “News,” “Sermons,” or “Recipes”)
Paste your RSS or Google Feed URL
Click Validate to confirm it’s a valid RSS feed using the RSS Feed Validator
(Optional) Turn on Advanced Analytics to track views, clicks, and watch time
(Optional) Enable Search Indexing to make feed content searchable from your app’s global search. Enter:
Unique key
Title key
Description key
Image URL key
Publish date key
Click the Design tab:
Adjust the item layout and feed display style
Add a background image to match your app’s theme
(Optional) Enable Advanced Mode to customize design elements using CSS
Click the Settings tab:
Configure how feeds display and who can access them:
Require login – allows users to preview titles but requires login to open full articles
Launch external URL – enable to open articles in a browser with ads or menus; disable for a simplified in-app version
Click the Security tab:
Turn on Require Login to restrict access to logged-in users
(Optional) Add tag-based restrictions and choose whether to match any or all tags
Click the Tagging tab:
Enter a tag name to automatically apply to users when they open this feature
Click Add Tag
Click the Purchase tab:
Check Require Purchase to enable
Choose your product type (e.g., Single Purchase or Subscription)
Upload an image, fill out purchase text, and add success/failure messages
Click the Analytics tab to view feed performance:
Track engagement, including item opens, total plays, and video or audio duration

Always validate your RSS feed before adding it to prevent connection errors.
Use Search Indexing for apps with large content libraries to make items easily searchable.
Disable Launch external URL to keep users within the app for a seamless experience.
Combine multiple feeds (e.g., “Podcasts” and “Blog”) to organize different content types in one view.
Monitor Analytics regularly to see which content categories drive the most engagement.
