Countdown Timer Features

On the backend, the countdown timer is one of the simplest features that we offer. Here’s a quick overview of the features you can enable

Audio Messages

You can enable or disable two different audio messages:

  • Half way message

  • Ending audio message

If you enable the ending audio message, you can also select when that message starts (either 3 seconds or 5 seconds before the end).

This message acts a verbal warning, so users won't actually have to be looking at the app screen to know how much time is left.

Design Settings

As an admin, you can control the color settings of the countdown timer from the “Design” tab of the editor. You have the ability to select multiple colors and even change the color of the countdown progress bar.

Benefits of Countdown Timer

Some key advantages of the countdown timer app include:

  • Audio warnings so you don't have to actually look at the screen to know how much time is left

  • Track time directly in the app, without forcing users to navigate to another time-tracking device on their device

  • Customize the look and feel of the countdown timer to set the mood varying use cases

  • Versatile enough for quick countdowns (e.g. 15 or 30 secs) and long countdowns (e.g. 30 or 60 min) alike

  • Improve the user experience

  • Increase engagement rates by keeping users in the app longer

Steps to Use Countdown Timer

Follow the simple steps below to get started.

Step #1: Add the Countdown Timer Plugin to Your App

The first thing you need to do is add the feature to your app. Locate the App Components menu on the left side of your screen, and select Marketplace from the expanded menu.

From here, you can search for the plugin and click the "+" icon to add it to your app.

Give it a title, and optionally add it to your app's side menu.

Step #2: Determine Your Audio Settings

Next, decide whether you want the timer to play an audio message to keep users alerted about the timer.

You can set up an alert to play halfway through the countdown, at the end of the countdown, or both. Just toggle the on/off buttons to set this up.

Step #3: Set Your Countdown Time

The timer can be adjusted from 15 seconds to 60 minutes at varying intervals. This can be adjusted from the dropdown menu in the app emulator.

By default, the timer is set to 30 seconds. But you can click the dropdown bar to display the other options.

Step #4: Start the Timer

Once you've adjusted the time to your liking, you can use the countdown timer by clicking the play button. The countdown will start immediately after you click play.

You'll also see the elapsed time, and time remaining on the countdown, both displayed in real-time on the app.
