The Google Slides plugin allows you to embed a Google Slides presentation in your app so users can either view or edit it. You can choose between preview or edit mode depending on how you want users to interact with the slides. This is useful for training decks, shared presentations, or collaborative documents.

Requirements

  • A public or shareable Google Slides link

  • Correct access permissions set (View or Edit)

    • Users must be logged into their Google account to edit slides

How to use the Google Slides plugin

  1. Log in, go to Builder in the left navigation

  2. Click the + button to open the Plugin Marketplace

    • Search for Google Slides, then click Add Plugin

    • Name your plugin (e.g., “Team Presentation”) and click Add

  3. Once added, open the Content tab

    • Under Mode, choose how users will interact with your slides:

      1. Preview Mode – Displays the slides in view-only mode

      2. Edit Mode – Allows users to edit slides directly inside the app

    • Paste your Google Slides URL into the URL field

      1. If using Preview Mode, make sure your Google Slides file is set so “Anyone with the link can view.”

      2. If using Edit Mode, make sure your Google Slides file is set so “Anyone with the link can edit.”

  4. Click the Security tab:

    • Turn on Require Login to restrict feature access to logged-in users.

    • (Optional) Add tag-based restrictions and choose whether to match any or all tags.

  5. Click the Tagging tab:

    • Enter a tag name to automatically apply to users when they open this feature.

    • Click Add Tag.

  6. Click the Purchase tab:

    • Check Require Purchase to enable.

    • Choose your product type (e.g., Single Purchase or Subscription).

    • Upload an image, fill out purchase text, and success/failure messages.

  7. Click the Analytics tab to see feature performance:

    • View data such as number of views, users, and devices over time.

Pro tips

  • Use Preview Mode for public or read-only presentations.

  • Use Edit Mode only for trusted collaborators and manage their permissions directly in Google Slides.

  • Test your shared link in an incognito window before publishing to confirm access settings.

  • For multiple presentations, group several Google Slides plugins inside a Folder feature for easy navigation.
